Ingredients:
2 kg potatoes (either firm or general use potatoes; not new harvest potatoes)
1 dl virgin canola oil
1 tbsp French fries mixed spice salt (ranskanperunamaustesuola)
2 tsp paprika spice
2 tsp mixed pepper crunch
- Wash the potatoes without peeling them
- Slice each potato into 4 – 6 slices diagonally in relation to the longer part of the potato
- Use a large plastic bowl with a lid to make the spice mix:
- Mix the spices with the canola oil in the bowl
- Add the potatoes in the bowl
- Close the lid
- Rumble the bowl strongly to properly lubricate the potato slices with the spice mix
- Let the lubricated potatoes marinade in the fridge from a couple of hours to overnight
- Cover a large baking tray with baking paper and spill the marinated potato boats on it
- Bake in 225 C for 30 – 45 min, either on the middle or upper level. Determine the desired level of the boats’ ripeness by poking them with a toothpick
